Thanks to all who have contributed to the “Raising
the Roof” fund. As of this writing we are less than $3,000
from achieving our goal. We started with about $6,200 in the
roof fund and we have received about $16,000 in donations as
of March 20. The roofing project was completed on March 18,
and it looks very good and the workmen did a good job on the
project. There is still time to give to help us accomplish
our goal. Thanks for your giving. Every donation is important
toward reaching our goal.
Now that this much needed roof project has been completed,
we are now looking forward to this fall for a mortgage burning
ceremony. The date will be September 21. This celebration is
still in the planning stages. Bishop Steve Ullestad, bishop
of the NE Iowa Synod will be here to preach at this celebration.
The Bishop was pastor of St. Timothy when the new church was
built and dedicated in 1986.
Spring is here. It has been a winter that we can describe as
winter. Jerry Williams has done a good job at keeping the parking
lot in good shape. Thanks to Mike King, Yale Kramer and the
trustees for keeping the sidewalks clean. Thanks to each of
you who ventured out on some Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings
to attend worship when the weather was not very good.
Thanks to our confirmation families for providing us meals
prior to our Lenten services. Good food and good fellowship.
Thanks to Kim Marsh for playing for Holden Evening Prayer and
thanks to our song leaders as well. We have come to appreciate
Holden Evening Prayer.
The picture directory is an important part of our life together
as a community of faith. It helps us with names and faces and
helps us make and keep connections with others in the congregation.
Please make every effort to have your picture taken so it will
be in the directory.
Thanks for your regular giving to the mission and ministry
of St. Timothy. Our mission partners like EWALU, Cedar Falls
Lutheran Home, Bremwood, Lutheran Campus Ministry, Hunger Appeal,
NE Iowa Food Bank, Synod and ELCA thank you as well as our
giving ensures that their mission and ministry can be accomplished.
We have a group of quilters who come on most Fridays now to
do their work. Thank you for all you do ladies. If you check
out the bulletin board there is, on a regular basis, thank
yous from individuals and organizations that have received
one of the variety of things the quilters make for others in
need. Thank you for your work and how you have touched the
lives of so many people in need.
We have celebrated the resurrection of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. “He is not here; he has risen as he said.” This
is great news for each of us and for our world. News that is
intended to be shared with others. “Jesus Christ is risen
today, Alleluia.”
